PORTFOLIO OF WORK
The following is a collection of my latest projects. Each piece is unique in style, content and platform. Through each story I have learned something new and honed in on my craft. I have included stories on digital, radio and broadcast platforms. This portfolio has works from my time at the Cronkite School as well as NBC News.
Radio + Print Work

COVERING HEALTH: THE NEW CRONKITE NEWS HEALTH DESK
This is one of many radio stories I did for Blaze Radio Online, covering the new Health Desk at Cronkite News
SENATE MEETING: UNDERGRADUATE STUDENT GOVERNMENT
This is another radio story that I did covering the Undergraduate Student Government's Senate meeting.
Etymology Of A Protest
This documentary, titled Etymology Of A Protest, follows two major events/movements of 2020. One being the resurgence of the Black Lives Matter movement, and the other being the COVID-19 pandemic (specifically the movement to wear masks). This documentary aims to analyze how these issues became so polarized and politicized in our country, and more importantly this documentary urges Americans to have an empathetic reaction in the face of tragedy rather than a divisive one.
This documentary was the collective effort of three people. I, Nicole Shinn, contributed in the role of executive producer. I worked with two other peers who contributed respectively in the roles of editor and director.

This is a long-form digital story about the increased rates of ADHD diagnosis amongst college students and the accompanying abuse of prescription stimulants on college campuses in the United States. This story was published and syndicated by NBC's Owned Television Station websites.
The reporting, editing, production and voice over for this story were done by Nicole Shinn during her time as a digital news intern with NBC's Owned Television Stations.
Description: Over the last two decades, ADHD diagnosis and prescriptions to treat them have been on the rise, especially among college-aged students, which has contributed to higher rates of prescription stimulant misuse on college campuses. NBC spoke to three psychologists who specialize in ADHD to learn more about what’s causing the rise in diagnosis and why college students are misusing the medication.
